Your identity photo must meet certain requirements. See the  photo matrix. You cannot have your photo taken at the town hall.

You can find more information at www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl.

Bring to the application appointment

It is important to be able to show the right documents when applying for a passport or identity card. Therefore, make yourself or your child a personal checklist at  www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl.

Identity photos taken abroad or photos that are somewhat older, often do not meet the requirements. We therefore recommend that you get your identity photos taken by a photographer in The Netherlands. If you do not have an identify photograph that meets the Dutch requirements, we will be unable to help you further and you will have to make a new appointment.

If you have questions about the documents you need for your application, please get in touch with us on  0031 316 291 391 or at RNI@montferland.info.

You should make an appointment for this.

For an up-to-date overview of fees, please consult the fee ordinance at www.overheid.nl.

After your complete application (only on appointment) has been processed at the municipal desk, the delivery time for a standard application is 3 working days. You can only collect your passport or identity card IN PERSON at our premises: Gemeentehuis Montferland, Bergvredestraat 10, 6942 GK in Didam.

Please collect your new document within three months of your application. After this period, your document will be destroyed. You will then need to make a new application for a new document and you will be charged again for this.

Please bring the following with you when you come to collect your document:

  • The collection receipt;
  • The travel documents that you need to hand in.
