Municipality of Heerlen: registering with the municipality for a short stay
Heerlen has an RNI counter.
To register in the Register voor Niet-Ingezetenen – RNI (Non-residents Records Database) you need:
- A valid identity card. This cannot be a driving licence.
- The Application form for entry in the Registratie Niet-ingezetenen – RNI (Non-residents Records Database) Fill in the form and take it with you to your appointment.
- In some cases you will need to have your certificate/deed legalised or translated. You can check whether this is the case for your country on the government website (Rijksoverheid.nl – external link). Enter the name of the country where your document was issued.
- Are you registering your child(ren) under the age of 16?
· They must attend the appointment in order to be entered in the RNI.
· You need to bring: an original birth certificate of your child(ren), and (if applicable) an extract or official copy of an Erkenningsakte (acknowledgement of parenthood certificate).
Make an appointment to be entered in the RNI.
Registration in the RNI is free of charge. You must pay the costs of translating or legalising documents that you may need to take with you.
The municipality will enter you in the RNI during the appointment. You will immediately receive your Burgerservicenummer – BSN (citizen service number).
