If you have a decision (judgment) from the court or an agreement from a
lawyer or civil-law notary, you can terminate your registered partnership in the registry office.

-You entered into your registered partnership in the municipality of Oudewater.
-You must terminate your registered partnership within 6 months after receipt of the decision or agreement.

You have no minor children and both partners agree

-You hire a lawyer or civil-law notary.
-Your lawyer or civil-law notary draws up an agreement, which you and your partner sign.
-With this agreement, your lawyer or civil-law notary terminates your partnership with the municipality.
-The municipality changes your marital status in the BRP (basic registration of persons).

You have minor children or both partners disagree

-Your lawyer will apply to the court for dissolution.
-The court will send a decision to you and your partner.
-With this decision, your lawyer terminates your partnership with the municipality.
-The municipality changes your marital status in the BRP (basic registration of persons).

-Terminating a registered partnership is free.
-The municipality is not responsible for the costs of a lawyer, civil-law notary and judge.
