Municipality of Maastricht: registering the ending of a civil partnership in the civil registry

If you wish to report the ending of your civil partnership yourself, you will need:

• a written request for entry in the register of civil status from 1 of the parties (or both parties);
• an original copy of the beschikking van de rechtbank (order of the court that ruled on the divorce) or an original _getekende overeenkomst tot beëindiging van uw partnerschap (_signed agreement to terminate your partnership), a deed drawn up by a notary;
• the documents must show that you and/or the other party can no longer appeal the ruling.

Registration of the ending of a civil partnership is free of charge.

The municipality will process the data within 1 week.
