Municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee: deregistering from the municipality in the event of a long stay outside the Netherlands

Are you moving abroad? You report this to the municipality if you go abroad for more than 8 months in a period of 1 year.

Description

If you move abroad, you must report the move to the municipality. You must report if you go abroad for more than 8 months in a period of 1 year. These 8 months do not have to be consecutive. Even if you keep your house in the Netherlands, you must report the move to the municipality.

Are you staying abroad for less than 8 months? Then you can report the move, but you don't have to.

The municipality will inform the authorities that are connected to the Personal Records Database (BRP). For example, the tax authorities and the pension funds.

You must personally report your move to the municipality under the following condition:

  • Family members remain at your current address in the Netherlands.

Otherwise, you can make the notification in writing. This can be done by:

  • yourself, if you are 16 years or older
  • by parent, guardian or guardian for minor children
  • cohabiting spouses / registered partners for each other
  • cohabiting parents and adult children for each other

This is how you report your move abroad:

  • You make the report within 5 days before your departure. Please note: you will be deregistered on the day you report your move (ie not on your actual departure date).
  • Does everyone at your address move abroad?
    • You can submit your report digitally. You can then immediately request proof of deregistration.
    • You can also submit your report in writing to the municipality.
    • You enclose a copy of your valid proof of identity.
  • Will people continue to live at your address?
    • You personally go to the municipality.
    • You bring your valid ID with you.
  • You pass on:
    • in which country you will stay
    • what is your first address (with city name)
    • the date you move

The declaration can be made by:

  • yourself, if you are 16 years or older
  • by parent, guardian or guardian for minor children
  • cohabiting spouses / registered partners for each other
  • cohabiting parents and adult children for each other

It is not possible to request proof of deregistration after the day of departure. You can only do this at the same time as the declaration of the departure abroad. Do you still need proof of deregistration later? Then you can do this at an RNI municipality. These municipalities are Alkmaar, Almelo, Amsterdam, Breda, The Hague, Doetinchem, Eindhoven, Groningen, Goes, Heerlen, Leeuwarden, Leiden, Nijmegen, Rotterdam, Terneuzen, Utrecht, Venlo, Westland and Zwolle.

Proof of deregistration costs € 10.25, but if you request it digitally € 8.30.

  • Reporting by email or post: 5 working days.
  • Reporting at the service desk: processed immediately by the municipality.
