Municipality of Oisterwijk: applying for youth care for your child

Need help raising your child? Get in touch with Loket Wegwijs. Together we will see what you can do yourself, possibly with others around you. Still need extra help? Then we offer it as close to home as possible.

What is youth care

Youth care is for children and youth up to age 18, sometimes up to age 23. Some examples of youth aid are:

  • Individual counseling
  • Help with education
  • Day care
  • Stay-at-home care

Usually the child receives help by appointment and continues to live at home. Help may be provided at school, at home or at an on-site youth assistance provider.

Emergency

Sometimes you end up in an emergency situation when a personal or family situation threatens to get out of hand. Together with the region of Hart van Brabant we have a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT). This team helps 24 hours a day in crisis situations. A crisis is an urgent situation that cannot wait until the next day. Examples include abuse, neglect, suicide or serious conflicts. You can reach the CIT via telephone number [0800 80 13](0800 80 13).

Is it a life-threatening situation? Then call 112.

What you can do yourself

  • Walk in to or call Loket Wegwijs, together you will see if a separate appointment is needed.
  • It may be that a (volunteer) organization can help you. View the Welfare Guide on which all these organizations are listed.
  • Sometimes customization is necessary, for example if specific support is needed or if the situation is complicated. Loket Wegwijs also looks at the possibilities and needs.
