Municipality of Brummen: applying to get married

• A valid proof of identity for you and your partner.
• A copy of your witnesses' ID.

When you register your marriage, you make a number of choices, which you communicate to the municipality. These choices relate to the ceremony and the venue. The costs depend on your wishes and the possibilities of the municipality.

Ceremony

The ceremony is the official part of your marriage. You can choose from:

• without elaborate ceremony (free of charge): there are 2 options per week, on Monday morning;
• with elaborate ceremony: this is possible on all days of the week.

If you choose an elaborate ceremony, you can choose who leads the ceremony. You can choose from:

• wedding official of the municipality of Brummen;
• another wedding official to be appointed once (this official must already be employed as a wedding official in another municipality in the Netherlands).

Do you opt for a wedding official from the municipality of Brummen? Then the wedding official will contact you a few weeks before the planned date to get acquainted. Do you choose another wedding official? Then you must submit a request for this. To do this, first contact the municipality.

Wedding venue

You can get married in various places in the municipality of Brummen. You can choose from:

• a wedding venue of the municipality;
