Municipality of Zwolle: applying for special social assistance

You can apply for special social assistance from the municipality if:

• you live in the municipality of Zwolle;
• it concerns special and necessary costs that you normally do not incur, but you have to incur now;
• you cannot get the costs reimbursed anywhere else;
• you still have to incur the costs
• the costs were not incurred through your own fault

For your application, we need at least from you (and your potential partner):

• copy of a valid identity document (not a driver's license)
• copy of invoice or letter of the costs to be paid

You must also upload the following:

• proof of your income,
• the most recent statements from all current and savings accounts,
• proof of assets and/or debts,
• a quotation or invoice of the costs for which you request special social welfare assistance.

The municipality will send you a letter within 8 weeks. It will state whether you will receive special social assistance and how much you will receive. It will also state whether you will receive special welfare assistance in the form of a loan or non-repayable allowance.
