Municipality of Tilburg: applying for special social assistance

You can apply for special social assistance from the municipality if you:

• live in the municipality of Tilburg;
• incurred the costs in the Netherlands.

We ask about the income and assets of yourself, your partner and children aged 18 or older living at home. Unless you have recently provided this information for social assistance benefit or another application for special assistance. Then you don't have to pass them on again. Do you have a partner? Then you apply for special assistance together.

Form

Fill in the form on the website (DigiD required). You must also send the following:

• a copy of a valid form of identification,
• proof of your income,
• the most recent statements from all current and savings accounts,
• proof of assets and/or debts,
• a quotation or invoice of the costs for which you request special social welfare assistance.

The municipality will send you a letter within 8 weeks. It will state whether you will receive special social assistance and how much you will receive. It will also state whether you will receive special welfare assistance in the form of a loan or non-repayable allowance.

Have you received a rejection and disagree with it? Then you can object within 6 weeks.

The processing of your application takes a maximum of 8 weeks. Have you not heard anything after 8 weeks? Then contact the municipality.
