Municipality of Stichtse Vecht: applying for special social assistance

• You live in Stichtse Vecht
• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are Dutch or have a valid residence permit
• The costs for which you are applying for special assistance are special, unforeseen, necessary and are not covered by another law or provision, such as the Health Insurance Act.
• the costs are so high that you cannot pay them from your income or assets
• you must submit your application on time, within 30 days after the costs have arisen

Income

An important principle is that you incur high costs in relation to your income. What income you have does not matter. The municipality calculates whether you can pay the high costs yourself, or whether special assistance is possible. The higher your income, the more you have to pay yourself.

If you are not already known to the municipality, you must include the following with your application:

• valid identification (no driving license)
• proof of the costs for which reimbursement is requested
• Bank statements from bank and savings accounts of you, your partner and your minor children for the past 3 months (note: a printout must clearly show your name, address, account number, balance, credits and debits)
• proof of income for the past 3 months
• proof of valuable possessions
• proof of debts
