Municipality of Rotterdam: applying for special social assistance

You can apply for special social assistance from the municipality if you:

• live in the municipality of Rotterdam
• incurred the costs in the Netherlands

Print the online form and fill it in. Send it to:

Or you can hand it in at:

• Stadswinkel IJsselmonde, Herenwaard 23
• Centraal Onthaal, Binnenrotte 158
• Stadswinkel Centrum, Coolsingel 40

You must also send the following:

• a copy of a valid form of identification,
• proof of your income,
• the most recent statements from all current and savings accounts,
• proof of assets and/or debts,
• a quotation or invoice of the costs for which you request special social welfare assistance.

The municipality will send you a letter within 8 weeks. It will state whether you will receive special social assistance and how much you will receive. It will also state whether you will receive special welfare assistance in the form of a loan or non-repayable allowance.
