Municipality of Rijssen-Holten: applying for special social assistance

• You apply for special assistance from the municipality.
• You apply for special assistance before you incur the costs. The source of income is not important, only the amount of your income.
• A household with social assistance benefits is eligible in terms of income, but you can also apply for special assistance with an income from work or another source of income.
• Do you have assets or savings? There is a wealth limit to qualify for special assistance.
• You have a low income.
• You have little assets.
• You cannot pay the unexpected costs yourself. 
• The costs are necessary.
• You are not entitled to any other benefit or allowance.
• Are you under guardianship? Then you may be able to get the costs reimbursed from special assistance.

You apply for special assistance from the municipality. Use the special assistance application form for this and send it to sociaalvraagplein@rijssen-holten.nl. You must also send the following:

• a copy of a valid form of identification,
• proof of your income,
• the most recent statements from all current and savings accounts,
• proof of assets and/or debts,
• a quotation or invoice of the costs for which you request special social welfare assistance.

The municipality wil send you  within 4 to 8 weeks whether you will receive social assistance benefit. Can't do it within 4 weeks? Or do you need money to buy food or drinks? The municipality can also give you an advance if you ask for it.
