Municipality of Hellendoorn: applying for special social assistance

You can apply for special social assistance from the municipality if you:

• live in the municipality of Hellendoorn;
• incurred the costs in the Netherlands.

Apply for special assistance before you incur the costs. How to apply for special assistance: You submit your application to the municipality. Fill in the form. Send the supporting documents required:

• a copy of a valid form of identification,
• proof of your income,
• the most recent statements from all current and savings accounts,
• proof of assets and/or debts,
• a quotation or invoice of the costs for which you request special social welfare assistance.

The municipality will send you a letter within 8 weeks. It will state whether you will receive special social assistance and how much you will receive. It will also state whether you will receive special welfare assistance in the form of a loan or non-repayable allowance.

You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. Do you then disagree with the decision on the notice of objection? Then file an appeal with the court.
