Municipality of Elburg: applying for special social assistance

You can apply for special social assistance from the municipality if you:

• You are 18 years or older and live in the municipality of Elburg.
• The costs for which you request special assistance are special, unforeseen, necessary and will not be reimbursed in any other way.
• Your income (work or benefits) is lower than the social assistance standard that applies to you or
• You incur high costs in relation to your income. The municipality calculates whether you can pay the high costs yourself or whether special assistance is possible. The higher your income, the more you have to pay yourself.
• Your capital is lower than the capital limit that applies to you.

Application form for special assistance

You must send the following documents:

• A quote 
• Proof that the costs are not (fully) reimbursed by your health insurer or another agency (if applicable).

Attachments that you must send when:

• you request special assistance for medical costs: a copy of your health insurance policy.
• you have already paid (part of) the costs for which you are requesting special assistance: a proof of payment.
• you receive a pension: the most recent pension specification.
• you will receive tax credits from the tax authorities: a provisional assessment decision from the tax authorities.
• you receive alimony: a bank statement with alimony deposit.
• you and/or your family members have checking account(s) and savings account(s): you must include statements for the most recent full month of all accounts. You can download this from your bank. Make sure that the opening and closing balances are visible.
• you and/or your family members have investments/life insurance/savings insurance: you must add proof of the value.
• you and/or your family members have debts: proof of debts: you must enclose a debt overview.
• you and/or your family members have other possessions such as an owner-occupied home, vehicle, antiques, jewellery, etc.: you must add proof of the value of the possessions.

If the application is complete, you will receive a letter with the decision within 8 weeks. If more information is needed to assess your application, we will contact you.
