Municipality of Dalfsen: applying for special social assistance

Special assistance is intended for special costs. These are extra costs in case of illness, disability or another reason. For example, costs for glasses, legal assistance or dental costs.

These are costs that are not part of the normal costs of living, that you cannot pay yourself and will not be reimbursed (for example from health insurance). You can apply for special assistance from the municipality.

Please note: you can apply for bijzondere bijstand (special social assistance) only if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

Special assistance policy rules

The municipality will check whether you receive special assistance. The municipality does this based on the following questions: Are you really going to incur the costs?

  • Are the costs necessary, for example for medical reasons?
  • Are you unable to pay the costs (completely) yourself?
  • Is there no other institution that reimburses the costs, such as your health insurer?

  • een geldig identiteitsbewijs van uzelf en eventueel uw partner en gezinsleden
  • bewijzen van uw inkomen, vermogen en schulden van u en eventueel uw partner en gezinsleden
  • omschrijving van de bijzondere kosten

Apply for special assistance before you incur the costs. Otherwise, the municipality may reject your application.

You will be notified within 13 weeks whether you will receive assistance.

If you do not agree with the municipality's decision, you can object within 6 weeks.
