Province of Utrecht: applying for compensation for damage caused by provincial water management

You may be eligible for compensation for damage or loss resulting from an administrative act under the following conditions, among others:

• You are suffering or will suffer damage due to work within the framework of water management.
• The damage is far greater than what counts as a normal social risk.
• You are affected more than others in the same situation.
• There is no other insurance that compensates for the damage or loss.

The provincial authorities will make a decision on your application within 8 weeks. Is additional research needed? In that case, the provincial authorities will make a decision within 6 months.

Do you disagree with the decision of the provincial authorities on your compensation? You can object within 6 weeks of the decision. You do not agree with the outcome thereof? In that case, you can appeal through the courts.
