Province of Groningen: applying for compensation for damage caused by provincial water management
You might have suffered damage as a result of water management work. In this case, you can submit a request to the body that carried out the work. In the case of regional waters, that is the water authority or the province. Does it relate to national waters? If so, contact the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. You will only be entitled to compensation for damage that should not be borne by you.
You apply for compensation with the body that carried out the work. This may be the water authority, the province or the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
You may be entitled to compensation if, among others, the following conditions are met:
- you have suffered or will suffer damage as a result of work in the context of water-management damage
- the damage should not reasonably be borne by you in whole or in part
- compensation for the damage is not covered in any other way
