Municipality of Oosterhout: applying for an Attestatie de vita (Certificate of life)
An attestatie de vita (certificate of life) is an extract from the civil registry and intended for use abroad. To obtain a certificate of life, you must apply in person at the municipality.
A proof of being alive is an extract from the Personal Records Database (BRP) and intended for use within the Netherlands. You can request this proof of life online and will receive it by mail within 4 working days. You need a DigiD to do so.
- A valid identity document, such as your passport or driving licence.
- Cash or a payment card. You pay the fee at the time of application.
