Municipality of Houten: applying for an Attestatie de vita (Certificate of life)

The proof of life is a certified copy from the Personal Records Database (BRP). You can only use this copy in the Netherlands. You can request this copy in person from your municipality and digitally.
If you request the proof of life digitally, you will receive it by post within 5 working days. You will receive an application at the counter immediately.
You can use the attestation de vita abroad. This is signed by a civil registrar. The copy is drawn up in multiple languages. You can only request an attestation de vita in person at the counter with a valid ID.
Do you need the proof of life or the attestation de vita for your pension fund? Then you must demonstrate this at the counter, for example with a letter from the pension fund. You cannot therefore request it online for your pension. The application for the extract for your pension is free.
