Municipality of Helmond: applying for an Attestatie de vita (Certificate of life)

A certificate of life or attestation de vita is written proof that you are still alive. Institutions such as a pension fund or benefits agency may ask for this. A certificate of life for use in the Netherlands is an extract from the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP).

Approach

Apply for the certificate of being alive (in Dutch) digitally. You pay when applying via iDEAL.

Note: Does your pension fund or VUT-regulating body need the proof of being alive? Then your pension fund will ask for it in a letter. You will receive the copy for free if you show this letter during your application at the City Shop counter or if you upload this letter during your digital application.

Do you need an English-language attestation de Vita? Then you need to make an appointment at the City Shop. You can do this by calling 14 0492.

A certificate of life (Dutch) costs €15.70 (rate 2023).

A multilingual attestation de vita costs €15.70 (fee 2023).

You will receive the certificate immediately.
