Municipality of Dalfsen: applying for an Attestatie de vita (Certificate of life)

An attestation de vita is international proof that you are alive. You apply for the attestation de vita personally from the municipality. If you need proof of life in the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius and Saba, you do not apply for a certificate of life, but rather proof of life.

For example, you need a certificate of vita if your foreign life insurer or pension fund requests it. An attestation de vita is in Dutch and French. The document is valid for 6 months.

  • A valid ID.
  • If you apply for the attestation de vita for a pension fund, you must also bring the letter from the pension fund requesting this.

You pay a fee for this service. For more information, contact the municipality.

You will receive the document immediately.
