Municipality of Papendrecht: applying for an allowance for own contribution to childcare costs

Please note: you can apply for the compensation for personal contribution to kinderopvangtoeslag (childcare allowance) only if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

You are eligible for compensation if one of the following situations applies to you and your partner:

  • You receive bijstandsuitkering (social welfare benefits) and are following a reintegration programme to find work.
  • You receive social welfare benefits and are following a mandatory inburgering (civic integration) programme with an approved institution.
  • You work and receive supplementary social welfare benefits.
  • You are studying and earn the minimum wage.
  • You are under the age of 27, have no basic qualifications and are receiving support from the municipality to return to education.
  • Your social welfare benefits are going to cease because you have found a job. In that situation, you will receive a one-off payment of € 300,-.

Your application is handled by the Sociale Dienst Drechtsteden.

You must meet the following conditions:

  • You receive childcare allowance from the Belastingdienst (Tax and Customs Administration).
  • You, your partner and your child are registered with the municipality of Papendrecht.

The Sociale Dienst Drechtsteden will send you a letter within 8 weeks informing you whether you are entitled to the compensation for the personal contribution to childcare allowance. That letter will also state how long you will receive the contribution.
