Municipality of Hof van Twente: applying for an allowance for own contribution to childcare costs
Please note: you can apply for the compensation for personal contribution to kinderopvangtoeslag (childcare allowance) only if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.
You are eligible for compensation if one of the following situations applies to you and your partner:
- You receive bijstandsuitkering (social welfare benefits) and are following a reintegration programme to find work.
- You receive social welfare benefits and are following a mandatory inburgering (civic integration) programme with an approved institution.
- You work and receive supplementary social welfare benefits.
- You are studying and earn the minimum wage.
- You are under the age of 27, have no basic qualifications and are receiving support from the municipality to return to education.
Childcare must be registered in the National Register for Childcare and Playgroups (LRKP).
For which childcare can I apply for a contribution?
You can apply for a contribution towards the costs of:
- Daycare for children aged 0 to 4 years,
- After-school care for children aged 4 up to secondary school,
- Childminder care for children aged 0 up to secondary school.
Social-medical indication
Do you require childcare due to a social-medical indication? Call 0547 – 85 85 85 for assistance and more information. This is possible on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. You may then receive a full reimbursement.
In addition to the childcare allowance from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, you can apply for an additional contribution. You can apply for the childcare contribution through the special assistance program. You can check the childcare contribution box on the application form.
The municipality will send you a letter within 8 weeks informing you whether you are entitled to the compensation for the personal contribution to childcare allowance. That letter will also state how long you will receive the contribution.
