Municipality of Leiden: apply for an exemption to access to a low emission zone
Do you want to enter the environmental zone of Leiden with your truck and do you not meet the requirements? Apply for an exemption.
The Leiden environmental zone is the area within the canals and the eastern part of the Morsweg.

You can enter the low emission zone with:
- a diesel fueled lorry with an emission standard (EURO) 6 or higher. You can check this on the website of the Rijksdienst voor het Wegverkeer (www.rdw.nl).
- a gas fueled lorry
- a zero-emission vehicle
- a daily exemption
Leiden has a low emission zone for lorries only (heavy goods vehicles in category N2 and N3 that weigh more than 3.500 kg). Vans and cars can enter the low emission zone without restrictions.
The request for a daily exemption costs € 10. The application for an annual exemption costs € 25. The application for a temporary exemption costs € 30.
The municipality wil decide within 8 weeks. You will receive your exemption via email.
