Province of Overijssel: requesting permission to install a wind turbine
If your company intends to build a wind energy facility with an installed capacity of between 5 and 100 megawatts, or if you plan to expand an existing facility, you must first request our permission. To do this, you submit a request for a project decision (projectbesluit) to us.
You can only submit an application for an integration plan if the capacity of the wind farm will be between 5 and 100 megawatts.
The province may decide to reject the application for the integration plan. This may be because the wind power plan does not fit with the province’s or municipality’s policy, for example. The province must then designate another location where the wind farm initiative can be implemented. The province may also decide not to participate in the initiative. This must be done through a request to the Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. The reasons include:
- The province does not expect much faster decision-making or other ‘significant benefits’ to be achieved by applying the integration plan. The size, nature and location of the planned wind farm also do not give any reason to expect this.
- The province can fulfil its contribution to the national target for the generation of renewable electricity from wind energy on land in another way.
