Municipality of Overbetuwe: registering with the municipality
You must inform us of your move from abroad in person. You must make an appointment to do this.

All family members who wish to be registered must come to the appointment with you. This includes babies, young children and elderly people.
All family members who wish to be registered must bring:
- all your valid identity documents (which state your nationality);
- proof that you have living space, such as a rental contract or proof of ownership;
- if you were not born in the Netherlands: your birth certificate;
- if you are not an EU citizen: proof that the IND has approved your stay;
- Proof of deregistration if you come from Belgium, Germany, Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Saba or Sint Eustatius.
- Original documents from abroad of yourself and your children, eg birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce certificate. We only accept English, German and French documents without translation by a sworn translator. The documents must (depending on the country of issue) comply with the authencitation regulations.
Registration is free of charge. You must pay the costs of translating or legalising official documents that you may need to take with you.
We will register you in the Basisregistratie Personen – BRP (Personal Records Database) . You will receive a confirmation letter. We will send your citizen service number (BSN) by post within 3 weeks.
