Municipality of Dronten: registering with the municipality
You must inform us of your move to the Netherlands in person. For more information, contact the municipality.
All family members who wish to be registered must come to the appointment with you. This includes babies, young children and elderly people.
Bring your foreign documents with you. Think of your ID, birth certificate, marriage certificate, or divorce certificate. Some documents must first be verified for authenticity. This is called legalization. You can find this information on the website www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl. You can search for your own country and then go to: legalization of documents. Your municipality can also tell you whether this applies to your documents.
You can register if you are legally resident in the Netherlands. This is called lawful residence. Your residence is lawful in the following cases: You have Dutch nationality;
You have the nationality of another European Union country;
You have a valid residence permit;
You are permitted to await the decision on your residence permit application in the Netherlands.
Registration is free of charge. You must pay the costs of translating or legalising official documents that you may need to take with you.
The municipality will register you in the Basisregistratie Personen – BRP (Personal Records Database) during the actual appointment. You will receive a confirmation letter. The municipality will send your citizen service number (BSN) by post within 3 weeks.
