You must inform us of your move to the Netherlands in person. Please contact us to make an appointment to do this.
All family members who wish to be registered must come to the appointment with you. This includes babies, young children and elderly people.
When you go to your appointment, please bring the following documents:
- A valid document of identity (passport or ID-card) of every person to be registered.
- Do you not have Dutch nationality or another EU nationality? Then take your foreign passport and residence permit with you.
- A rental contract or contract of sale of your home, or your proprietor’s permission, for which you need to complete the form 'schriftelijke verklaring van inwoning'. Please note: you also need a copy of the main resident's proof of identity.
- A proof of deregistration when you come from Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Saba or Sint Eustatius.
- Original documents from abroad of yourself and of your children, such as certificates of birth, a marriage certificate or a deed of divorce.
- Only English, German and French deeds will be accepted without translation by a sworn translator. Foreign documents have to meet rules for legalising foreign documents. These rules depend on the country where the documents were issued.
Registration is free of charge. You must pay the costs of translating or legalising official documents that you may need to take with you.
