Municipality of Stichtse Vecht: registering a stillborn baby
- You can register a stillborn child in the Personal Records Database (BRP).
- You can do this in the municipality where you live. It does not matter after how many weeks of pregnancy or how long ago it was.
- Make an appointment (by telephone)
- The registry office will draw up a 'birth certificate (stillborn)
- The request for registration can be made in person by the father and/or mother, each in person in the municipality where they live (by telephone).
- If you did not live in the Netherlands and were not registered here when your child was born, you cannot register your child in the BRP.
- If you have not lived in the Netherlands since October 1, 1994, you cannot register your child in the BRP. Your personal data are not in the BRP, so your child cannot be added to it.
- It is not obligatory to have your child included in your personal data. You have the option to let us know if you want this.
- To register your child in the BRP, a deed is required. If your child came into the world lifeless, this is a 'certificate of birth (stillborn)'. Do you have this deed or do you know where and when this deed was drawn up?
- If there is not yet a deed, one must be made. If you don't know if there is a deed, it must be found out for you. Only the municipality where your child was born can do that.
- If your child was born in Stichtse Vecht, make an appointment by phone.
- Do you live in Stichtse Vecht, but your child was born in another municipality in the Netherlands? Then contact that other municipality. As soon as you have the certificate, you can make an appointment in Stichtse Vecht to register your child in the BRP.
- Do you live in Stichtse Vecht, but your child was born abroad? Contact us by telephone and we can help find out what is the best thing to do.
- The preparation of a deed is free of charge. Registering your child in the Personal Records Database (BRP) is also free.
- You can request a copy of the deed. This costs € 16.60. The deed itself remains the property of the municipality.
- You can also request an extract from the Personal Records Database (BRP). This is issued free of charge after registration. If you request the extract at a later time, you pay € 10.
