You may not bury or cremate the deceased sooner than 36 hours and no later than 6 business days after death. If you wish to bury or cremate the deceased sooner, you need permission from the public prosecutor and the mayor. If you wish to bury or cremate the deceased later, you only need permission from the mayor.

Declaration by surviving dependants

You can register the death yourself. You must do this in the municipality where your loved one died. Make an appointment with the municipality.
