Municipality of Krimpenerwaard: registering a death
When someone has died, the funeral director usually informs the municipality that this person has died. As a surviving dependant, you can also register the death yourself. This must be done in the municipality where the person died. We process the death in the Personal Records Database (BRP). This way government organizations are automatically informed.
Are you a funeral director? Then you can submit the declaration of death online.
Declaration by surviving dependants
You can also register the death yourself. You must do this in the municipality where your loved one died. Make an appointment with the municipality.
You pay a fee for this service. For more information, visit the municipality's website.
- As a surviving dependant, you receive the extract from the death certificate and the verlof tot begraven of cremeren (permission for burial or cremation) immediately.
- Funeral homes should receive the extract and any other documents on the same working day or, at the latest, the next working day.
