Municipality of Aalsmeer: registering a death
Would you like to report the death of a loved one or someone else? Usually, the funeral director will declare the death, but you can also do this yourself. This should be done at the municipality where your loved one died.
For registering a death you need the following:
- Citizen service number (Burgerservicenummer; BSN) of the deceased.
- Declaration of natural death from the attending physician. If a death certificate has been issued by the coroner of the GGD, then the GGD will send this to the municipality itself. You do not need a B-envelope (see next point).
- B-envelope. This contains a form which the physician has filled in for the CBS (Central Bureau of Statistics Netherlands) that states the cause of death. Submit the B-envelope as soon as possible at the municipality town hall. Make an appointment in advance for this by calling +31 297 38 75 75.
- Would you like to receive the documents by email or by post? You can communicate this by sending an email to bs@aalsmeer.nl.
- Alternatively, send the B-envelope as soon as possible by post to: Burgerzaken
