Municipality of Heerenveen: registering a civil partnership
Do you want to get married or do you want to enter into a partnership? Then you must first report this to the municipality. This used to be called 'going to marry', nowadays you make a notification. You can report a marriage or partnership in the municipality where you want to conclude your marriage or registered partnership. Before you report, think about the details of your wedding day. You can make the notification digitally.
- You or your partner live in the Netherlands;
- You and your partner can identify themselves with a valid passport, ID card or driving licence. You do this by enclosing a copy of the proof of identity with the form;
- You both have the Dutch nationality or that of another country in the European Union. Or you have a permanent residence permit;
- You are both 18 years or older;
- Neither of you has entered into (other) marriages/registered partnerships anywhere in the world;
- You have not filed in another municipality;
- You or your partner are not under guardianship.
You can report online at home using a form. You log in with DigiD, also your partner. If you have your own witnesses, you must enclose a copy of each witness's ID with the form. Do you want your own wedding officiant? Please contact afdeling Burgerzaken.
