Municipality of Borger-Odoorn: registering a civil partnership

In the information we talk about getting married. The same conditions apply to a civil partnership.

If you want to get married or enter into a civil partnership, you must meet the following conditions:

You are 18 years or older

You are not married to someone else

You do not have a civil partnership with anyone else

You are not too closely related to your partner. This means that your partner may not be, for example, your father, (grand)daughter, grandfather or (half) sister

We check whether you are allowed to get married or enter into a civil partnership.

You register your intended civil partnership with the municipality in which you wish to enter the civil partnership. Provide the details of yourself, your partner and your witnesses. This can be done up to 2 weeks before the ceremony date. You can do it online or at the town hall.

In your registration, specify the following choices:

  • Wedding venue
  • Date and time
  • Wedding registrar
  • Witnesses
  • Marriage certificate

Registering an intended civil partnership

You pay the costs for getting married or registering a partnership when you make an appointment to report your intended marriage or partnership. You pay costs for applying for a registered partnership. For all costs, please visit our website. Or contact the municipality for more information.
