Municipality of Vlissingen: registering a birth

If you have had a child, you must register the birth within 3 days.

• You register it in the municipality where the child was born. You make an appointment for this;
• The birth registration is done by the father, mother, or co-mother of the child. Or by someone else who was present at the birth of the child.

• A valid identification document of the person making the declaration;
•  A valid identification document of the mother; 
• Possibly a copy of the marriage certificate/registered partnership certificate of you and your partner; 
• Possibly a copy of the certificate of recognition;
• Possibly a copy of the certificate of name choice.

• You can do this at the counter in the town hall. You can make an appointment for this by calling +31118487000.
• You can register the birth digitally if at least one of the parents has Dutch nationality. Logging in with DigiD is mandatory.
