Municipality of Utrecht: registering a birth
Inform the municipality directly of the birth of your child. You must do so in the municipality where the child is born. In Utrecht you can do so online or at the service desk.
You can book an appointment for this.
- A valid ID of the person making the declaration
If you have the following documents, please also include:
- a copy of the document acknowledging the unborn child
- copy of the document of choice of name
- marriage or partnership booklet
- in case of 'duomoeders' (female partner of the biological partner): if applicable; a declaration by the Stichting Donorgegevens Kunstmatige Bevruchting – DKB (Artificial Fertilisation Donor Information Office)
Registering a birth is free of charge. You will also receive an excerpt of the birth certificate free of charge.
