Municipality of Hoorn: registering a birth
Online birth registration
You register the birth of your child online. The municipality then prepares the birth certificate. If you meet all the conditions below, you do not have to visit the town hall:
- You log in with DigiD.
- One of the parents has the Dutch nationality.
- You upload a photo or scan of the birth certificate. You will receive this in the hospital or from the obstetrician.
- You upload a photo or scan of the deed of recognition (if it was made in a municipality other than Hoorn).
- You enter your partner's BSN (if applicable)
Do you not meet all the conditions? Then you make an appointment at the end of the online declaration to visit the town hall.
The birth registration is free. You can request a copy of the birth certificate via Akte aanvragen page.
