Municipality of Heerenveen: registering a birth

Was your child born in the municipality of Heerenveen? In that case, you must declare the birth within three working days after the birth. You can register a birth digitally or personally at the town hall. Prefer to pass it on personally? Then make an appointment.

You can report the birth digitally if:

your child was born in the municipality of Heerenveen
one of the parents has Dutch nationality
you were present at the birth of the child

When registering online:

DigiD
Proof of birth from the hospital or midwife
Copy of the acknowledgement of birth certificate (if applicable)
Proof of identity of the mother (if the declaration is not made by one of the parents)

At the counter, please provide:

Your valid ID
If you have received one: Doctor's certificate
If you have acknowledged the child: Copy of the acknowledgement of unborn child certificate
if you have one: deed of name choice

At home, via an online fo rm (you need DigiD for this)
At the counter, make an appointment.
