Municipality of Dronten: registering a birth
Inform the municipality within 3 days of the birth of your child. You can do this at the service desk. Contact the municipality to book an appointment.
Who can register a birth?
The mother;
The legal father;
Someone who was present at the birth (Only if the mother and father cannot register the birth);
Someone from the institution or home where the child was born (Only if no one was present at the birth).
To be able to file a digital birth registration, you must meet a number of conditions:
Your child must have been born in the municipality of Dronten. Children born in a hospital cannot be registered in Dronten;
At least one parent must have Dutch nationality;
You have a DigiD;
You have a medical certificate/birth certificate issued by the midwife, which you upload when registering the birth online. Do you not meet the requirements for registering the birth online? Or would you prefer to register the birth at the town hall? Then you can make an appointment for this. Please bring the following:
Your valid ID;
The mother's valid ID;
An acknowledgement of unborn child (if applicable);
A marriage certificate (if applicable);
A declaration of surname choice (if applicable);
A statement from the doctor or midwife.

Registering a birth is free of charge. You pay a fee for a birth certificate. For more information, contact the municipality.
