Municipality of Bergen (L): registering a birth

• Valid ID of the person registering the birth;
• Valid ID of the mother;
• Certificate from the doctor or midwife (if you have one);
• Certificate of recognition of unborn child (if you have one);
• Certificate of name choice (if you have one);
• Optionally your marriage certificate (not mandatory)

You can apply online via Registering a birth or in person at the municipality by an appointment.

Registering a birth is free of charge. You pay a fee for a birth certificate.
