Municipality of Smallingerland: paying the waste collection charge

You pay the following waste collection charge in the municipality of Smallingerland.

You pay a fixed rate on the basis of the number of persons within your household:

·         single-person households €235.00;

·         multi-person households €277.00.

Paying waste collection levy

You pay the waste collection levy through the municipal tax assessment. You usually receive this assessment at the end of February. This assessment includes the amount that you must pay. You pay this amount in two instalments according to the due dates on the assessment notice. Are you unable to pay the amount in one lump sum? Then you can:

·         pay in instalments: you apply for a direct debit and the municipality then debits the amount from your bank account in eight instalments (each month)

·         apply for a payment scheme with the municipality

Waiver

You can request the municipality to not pay a part of the levy. This is called a waiver. Whether you are entitled to a waiver depends on your personal and financial situation. You can apply for a waiver via:
