Municipality of Nijmegen: paying the waste collection charge
Please note. You only pay afvalstoffenheffing (waste disposal charges) if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.
You pay tax for waste in the following ways:
- with the green and red garbage bag for residual waste;
- with the orange plastic+ bag for plastic, can and pack;
- if you use an underground residual waste container;
- at the recycling centers for certain types of bulky waste;
- in certain cases for the collection of bulky waste at home.
How much you pay depends on the number of times you dispose of waste or have it collected. Alternatively, it may depend on the number of kilograms of waste. The more waste that you dispose of or the more often you dispose of it, the more you pay.
Charges
You pay for each time you dispose of waste. Check the rates at nijmegen.nl.
