Municipality of Montferland: paying the waste collection charge
The municipality of Montferland collects and processes waste. As a resident, you pay for this through the waste collection tax. The purpose of this tax is to cover the costs that the municipality incurs through collecting and processing waste. This includes household waste, fruit, vegetable and garden waste (gft), small chemical waste, glass, waste paper and textiles.
You always pay a basic amount on top of which you pay for every time that your bin is emptied. If you use a shared bin (high-rise) then you pay a fixed amount per year dependent on whether you are a single-person or multiple-person household.
