Municipality of Heerenveen: paying the waste collection charge

Please note. You only pay afvalstoffenheffing (waste disposal charges) if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

Omrin collects your household waste. This company does this on behalf of the municipality. Collecting and processing household waste costs a lot of money. The municipality therefore asks for a contribution in the form of waste collection charge.

You pay the following waste collection charge in the municipality of Heerenveen:

The waste collection charge consists of a fixed amount per home (standing charge) and a variable part (diftar). You always pay fixed charges, even if you do not use containers or an underground waste system. How much diftar you pay depends on the number of times you put your container on the road or throw a garbage bag in the underground container. You will receive a quarterly invoice for the diftar afterwards.

Fixed rate

  • € 167,00 for each houshold/plot

Diftar+, pay per kilo

  • mini container (sorti bin) of 240 liters of residual waste: € 1.00 at a time plus a fixed amount per kilo of € 0.37
  • mini container of 180 or 240 liters of organic waste: for free
  • household garbage bag of 40 liters of residual waste: € 2.20 each time (when using a collection container)

In some cases, for example in a care home, there is a rate without a diftar. Then the rate for a single-person household is € 251,00 and for a multi-person household € 311,00.
