Municipality of Amsterdam: paying the waste collection charge

Fixed rate

You pay a fixed rate based on the number of people in your household:

• € 352 for single-person households. 
• € 469 for multi-person households (two or more people, including babies and children).

The rates will stay the same in 2026.

Waiver

You can ask the municipality whether you are entitled to an exemption for paying part of the charge. That expemtion is referred to as kwijtschelding. Whether you are entitled to an exemption depends on your personal situation.
