Municipality of Someren: paying the sewage charge
Please note: you only have to pay rioolheffing (sewage charge) if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.
- You pay sewerage charges if you own a plot on 1 January of the tax year for which the municipality has a duty of care for the discharge of wastewater and for rainwater and groundwater
- This also applies if the plot is not connected to the municipal sewer system
- The proceeds are used for the maintenance and management of the municipal sewer system and other measures to drain water
The Belastingsamenwerking Oost-Brabant (BSOB) is responsible for the assessment of municipal and water board taxes for the municipality of Someren. Do you have questions? Or do you disagree with the municipal taxes? Please contact BSOB: www.bs-ob.nl.
- There are different rates for residential and non-residential
- A 'quarter' rate has been set for unbuilt objects and objects such as detached garage boxes with a floor area of less than 40 m²
- You pay the sewage charge via the combined municipal tax assessment.
- You will (usually) receive this assessment in February
