Municipality of Hilversum: paying the sewage charge
If your home or business space is connected to the municipal sewerage system, you pay a sewage charge. You pay for maintenance, for the drainage and management of waste water, rainwater and groundwater.
- On 1 January you are the owner of a house or building that is connected to the sewer. Your rain water goes through a well to the sewer. You then pay sewage charges
- If you own the property after January 1, you will pay the sewage charges the following year. The buyer and seller can make agreements with the notary about the payment of the difference of the sewage charges
Moving
- Moving to outside of Hilversum: From the end of the month in which you move, you will no longer pay sewage charges. Example: You move on May 23. You pay until the end of May. If you have paid in advance, you will automatically receive a refund within 3 months
- Moving within Hilversum: You will not receive a new tax assessment for sewage charges until the following year for the new address
