Municipality of Eindhoven: paying the sewage charge

Please note: you only have to pay  rioolheffing (sewage charge) if you live in the Netherlands and are registered with a municipality.

In determining the sewage charge, the municipality makes a distinction between the owner of the property and a high-volume user. Users who use more than 500 cubic metres of water on an annual basis pay a user component. Therefore 2 sewage rates apply.

You can find the rate of sewerage charges under the heading 'How much do I have to pay?'

Use Google to translate this website, at the top right corner (globe icon).

Payment

You will receive a letter from the municipality stating the amount of the sewage charge. The letter will state how and by what date you must pay.

Exemption

Do you have a low income and no equity? Then you may not have to pay the owner's sewage charge . You can then apply for a remission . No remission is possible for sewage charges for the user .

If you do not agree with the assessment, you can lodge an objection. You must pay the assessment. For more information, see Objecting to a tax assessment .
