Municipality of Oosterhout: paying property tax (OZB) on a property

Do you own a home? Then you pay property tax. This is a percentage of your home's WOZ value. The WOZ value indicates how much your home was worth on January 1st of the previous year. We use property tax money to partially pay for various amenities, such as education, sports, and playgrounds..

The following rates apply in the municipality of Oosterhout:

OZB owner (dwellings): 0,0886% of the WOZ

How do we calculate this tax?

The tax is a percentage of the WOZ value. The WOZ value is determined annually by the municipality in which your property is located.

Payment

You will receive an annual property tax assessment from the West Brabant Tax Cooperation. This assessment shows the amount you must pay. You must pay this amount within 6 weeks. If you cannot pay the entire amount in one go, you can choose to pay your tax assessment over 10 months. The amount will then be automatically debited from your account. You can arrange a direct debit through the West Brabant Tax Cooperation (BWB).

OZB Waiver

If you cannot pay your property tax assessment, you can request a waiver from the West Brabant Tax Cooperation.

OZB after Moving

If you are moving later in the year, you will still pay the property tax assessment determined on January 1st. You will no longer have to pay property tax for your new home. This is usually settled with the new owners by the notary.

Do you disagree with the WOZ for your property? Or with the OZB? If so, you can lodge a complaint within 6 weeks with Belastingsamenwerking West-Brabant (BWB)
