Municipality of Hoorn: paying parking tax

If you have not paid for parking, you will be charged a penalty. This is referred to as a parkeerbon (parking ticket). You receive this parking ticket from your municipality.

There are two types of parking fines. A fine for parking incorrectly and a fine for not paying or paying too little.

Not paid or underpaid?

Do you not pay or pay too little at a place where you have to pay? Then you will receive a parking fine. The parking fine (additional parking tax assessment) will be sent home within a few weeks. You can object to this. This can be done via the tax desk.

Parked wrong? More information via the CJIB

Do you park your car in a place where it is not allowed? Then you will receive a fine. You pay this to the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB). This is outside the community. More information, including about objecting to this fine, can be found on the website of the CJIB.

The parking fine is € 61,40 plus the hourly rate that applies to the parking space.

Wheel clamp

You pay € 36 for the removal of a wheel clamp.

Tow away

You pay € 182 for towing.
In addition, you pay € 15 per day that you do not collect your car.

When can I object?

You can object as soon as you have received the fine at home. To object, you need a copy of proof of payment, such as a parking ticket or bank statement. The municipality aims to handle your objection within 6 weeks.

Postponement of payment in the event of an objection?

Do you want a postponement of payment because you object? Please state this in your notice of objection. If no deferment of payment has been requested, the payment term will continue. Then make sure you pay on time. This way you avoid reminder costs. Has your objection been upheld? Then you will receive the overpaid amount back.
